Mr. Frank Jones

U.S. Army War College

Mr. Jones is an Associate Professor of Security Studies at the U.S. Army War College, where he holds the General Dwight D. Eisenhower Chair of National Security. A retired member of the Senior Executive Service with more than 30 years of government service, he served in several positions within the Office of the Secretary of Defense including Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations Policy and Support and Principal Director for Strategy, Plans and Resources in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Homeland Defense.

From 2006-2007, Frank was a fellow at the Homeland Security Institute, the federally-funded research and development center for the Department of Homeland Security, where he worked on national response planning and maritime security issues. He has written numerous book chapters and journal articles on such topics as national security policy making, homeland defense and terrorism and is the author of Blowtorch: Robert Komer, Vietnam, and American Cold war Strategy.
