Dr. John (JD) Olive

U.S. Space Command

Dr. Olive is Chief, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), Headquarters Air Force Space Command, Civil Engineer Operations and Readiness Division, Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado. In this position, he manages Air Force Space Command EOD programs at seven major installations and 65 Geographically Separated Units. He enables global Civil Engineer mission capability, supporting 5,750 military and civilian engineers and $34B in plant capacity. Dr. Olive is a core member of the Anti-Terrorism and Force Protection Working Groups, analyzing the results of vulnerability assessments, and recommending mitigating measures for Space Command installations.

His former position was Chief Enlisted Manager, Air Force EOD, Headquarters Air Force Civil Engineer Support Agency, Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida. As the EOD Career Field Manager, Dr. Olive was responsible for establishing manpower, equipment, training, and classification requirements for 1,500 Airman at 53 active duty and 32 Guard and Reserve installations. In this capacity, he was the senior advisor to The Air Force Civil Engineer on EOD related matters, sought after expert on IED, WMD, CBRN-E, and installation security. Furthermore, Dr. Olive was the focal point to the U.S. Secret Service and Department of State for explosive countermeasure support to our President, Vice-President, and other dignitaries.

Dr. Olive holds an Associate of Science Degree in EOD from Community College of the Air Force, an Associate of Science Degree in Office Management from Park University, graduated with honors with Bachelors of Science Degree with dual major in Management and Human Resources from Park University, graduated with honors with Masters of Science in Administration with concentration in Human Resources from Central Michigan University and Doctor of Management in Homeland Security from Colorado Technical University.

Additionally, Dr. Olive has attained numerous certifications to include Center for Creative Leadership, Senior Leadership Course; Bates Technical College, Fire Training Academy, awarded Firefighter I, with comprehensive training in arson investigation, hazardous materials response, and confined space operations and rescue. He is a graduate of the Texas A&M University, WMD-Incident Management Course; Air University, Incident Commanders Course, and Homemade Explosive Precursors and Detection Course, Sandia National Laboratories. Furthermore, Dr. Olive is a certified lean, Six Sigma (LSS) Greenbelt, and an expert in Business Process Reengineering.
