Mission
To provide Simulation and Gaming support to United States Army War College organizations for the development and execution of wargames, exercises, curriculum and other strategic level events that develop agile and adaptive strategic leaders and support the strategic needs of the Army.
Vision
WESSD is the primary source for value-focused, requirements-driven Simulation and Gaming expertise in support of the United States Army War College mission. WESSD efforts will support experiential education by advising on exercise methodology in support of the learning objectives and developing realistic exercise scenarios and training environments.
Primary Responsibilities
Interact with War College staff, faculty and students and monitor exercises, wargames and curriculum to identify opportunities for simulation enhancement.
Accept and review requests for simulation support from both internal and external customers. Identify and assess specific requirements based on value added in support of the War College mission. Interact with the customer to review alternate courses of action and select, develop and implement the solution.
Develop and maintain a network of simulation experts from across the Department of Defense. Leverage this network to assist in the development of simulation products.
Serve as the Deputy Chair for the Experiential Education Planning Committee.
